Things To Do

There really is something for everyone in and around the Bryn Gloch holiday park.

Walking

The Snowdonia National Park is of course well known for its walking and from Bryn Gloch there are walks for every ability.

Y Weirglodd Fawr is 10 acres of land that we have left to grow naturally and has now been designated as a SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest). Take a walk, stop and relax by the river and if you’re lucky, you may spot an otter or kingfisher.

Climb Yr Wyddfa – Mount Snowdon – is just 2.5 miles away, offering mountain walking direct from the site.

6 miles away are less challenging walks on stretches of 870 mile long Wales Coastal Path

There are numerous other public footpaths that lead from the park.

Dog walking. We have a dedicated dog walk on site but dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.

Fishing

Fish for trout, sea trout or salmon in our local river at the edge of the park which we own fishing rights to.

Game fishing is available in nearby lakes, one less than 2 miles away. Course fishing available only 4 miles away.

Coast

Dinas Dinlle is 8 miles away or Black Rock Sands with its miles of golden sands 14 miles away.

Enjoy the longest man-made surfable waves on the planet at The Surf Snowdonia Wave Garden in Conwy.

Wildlife

Professional bird watching tours can be booked with Birds of Snowdonia or keep an eye out when walking – there is plenty of wildlife spotting opportunities in the local area.

Adrenaline

Try the longest zipwire ride in Europe ‘The Velocity’ at Zipworld in Bethesda (13miles). Bounce below, Junior Bounce and Zip World Caverns are three incredible underground adventures located at Llechwedd Slate Caverns, Blaenau Ffestinog.

Try Scuba diving in the Vivian Dive Centre, taking a trip on the lake, or enjoy some activities on the water at the Padarn Watersport Centre.

Further Afield

25 miles away is the Victorian seaside resort of Llandudno. Here you can take the tram or cable car up the Gogarth or have a go on the dry ski slopes. 6 miles further up the coast is Colwyn Bay with its renowned Welsh Mountain Zoo.

Another full day outing would be driving round the Llŷn Peninsula and see Bardsey Island then up to Rhiw and look down at Porthneigwl - the bay known as Hell’s Mouth. If you go on a Wednesday, on your way back you can visit the Pwllheli market. Then take in a few laps on a go-kart or quad bike at Y Ffôr, or indoor karting in Caernarfon.

Caernarfon Airport has an aviation museum and run pleasure flights along the Menai Strait and around Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon).

From the quayside below the castle in Caernarfon, pleasure boat trips run along the Menai Strait.

There are many more attractions in the area. Then after a hard day of exploring why not sit out in the park, relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery around you - or walk 1 mile to the local pub.
